Position Description

Prepares and submits grant applications and proposals for the organization for existing or proposed projects that require unbudgeted funds. Prepares grant applications including writing or amending program descriptions and compiling required data. Typically requires a college degree and completion of training in grant writing.

Assists in the development of procedures for the receipt of program funds from various funding sources. Assists in the development of a process to review funding requests and coordinate the review process. Identifies potential funding and grant sources for current programs and provides proposals for funds for emerging health issues. Develops procedures to ensure compliance with grant conditions. Develops response to requests for proposal (RFP's) and letters of intent on grants and funding. Develops budgets and justifications for new proposals and renewals of grants. Initiates and maintains communication with relevant agencies. Provides reference, instruction and information services to staff as requested. Organizes information tools and resources for optimal accessibility. Provides consultation services on research strategies, tactics, and tools. Delivers diverse scientific, medical, technical, and business research/reference services as requested. Reviews books, journals, technical reports, and electronic media relevant to health care needs. Evaluates and recommends technologies, tools, and databases appropriate for data research purposes. May assist in data analysis and the design of data presentation.
